# Switching from ffmpeg-api.com

Two things change: the base URL and the API key. Paths, request and response fields, status codes and the error shape stay the same.

LogicBoostKit Media is not affiliated with ffmpeg-api.com.

01

## Create a key

[Sign up](https://media.logicboostkit.com/sign-up), add a card, then create a key in the console. The console shows the full Authorization header value once. Store it where you keep your current key.

02

## Change the base URL

```
- https://api.ffmpeg-api.com
+ https://media.logicboostkit.com
```

03

## Use the new key

```
Authorization: Basic $MEDIA_KEY
```

The header works the way it does on ffmpeg-api.com.

04

## Check it

```bash
curl https://media.logicboostkit.com/directory \
  -H "Authorization: Basic $MEDIA_KEY"
{ "ok": true, "directories": [] }
```

## What else to know

What else to know

- **Billing**: USD 0.01332 per GB-second, billed monthly. No plans.
- **Request ids**: X-Request-Id on every response, and request_id in processing, probe and job responses and webhooks. An async job’s job_id is its request id.
- **Amounts**: amount_usd on every charged response.
- **Usage export**: [GET /account/usage](https://media.logicboostkit.com/docs/get-account-usage), as CSV or JSON, with any of your keys.
- **Limits**: 5 GB per file, 300 requests a minute per key, 50 jobs at once.
- **Sizes**: input_size_gb and output_size_gb count a GB as 1,073,741,824 bytes. gb_sec is kept to nine decimal places.
- **403**: Means the account isn’t active, or a file is over the size limit. The error says which, and what to do.
- **404**: A directory, file or job that isn’t in your account is not found, whoever it belongs to.
- **Upload URLs**: Work for 5 minutes. Ask POST /file again for a fresh one.
- **Jobs**: A job can be read until its directory is deleted. Its response does not repeat the task.
- **Webhooks**: Up to 6 attempts over about 2 hours. A completed job is charged whether or not its webhook is delivered.
- **Options**: Options and filters that read or write outside the job’s folder, or open the network, answer 400. [The list](https://media.logicboostkit.com/docs/refused-options).
- **GET /account**: Answers in the usual shape. quota.limit_gb_sec and quota.remaining_gb_sec are null: there is no quota.
- **POST /ffmpeg/run**: Retired. It answers 410; use POST /ffmpeg/process.
- **/ai/… endpoints**: Not offered. They answer 501 in the usual error shape.
