# Limits

Limits keep the service stable. They aren’t plans, they are the same for every account, and there is no cap on usage or spend.

## Requests and jobs

Limits on requests and jobs

- **300 requests a minute**: Per key, over every endpoint. Over it, a request answers 429 with `Retry-After`.
- **50 jobs at once**: Per account, counting jobs that are pending or processing, sync and async, probes included. Over it, a new job answers 429 with `Retry-After`.
- **60 min per job**: A job still running after this fails with 500 and is not charged.
- **Busy service**: When no machine is free, a synchronous request answers 503 with `Retry-After`. An async job waits in the queue instead.
- **256 KB per request body**: A larger JSON body answers 400.

## Files and directories

Limits on files and directories

- **5 GB per file**: 5,000,000,000 bytes, for uploads, URL inputs and outputs alike. A task with a larger input answers 403; a larger output fails the job.
- **File names**: 1 to 255 characters, with no slash or backslash and no control characters. Not “.” or “..”.
- **Directory ids**: 1 to 64 letters, digits, underscores and hyphens. The ones we issue are dir_ and 20 lower-case letters and digits.
- **Directory lifetime**: 24 hours by default, 7 days at most. An expired directory answers 404 from the moment it expires; a sweep that runs every 5 minutes deletes it.
- **Upload URL**: Works for 5 minutes.
- **Download URL**: From GET /file/download: 5 minutes. In a job’s result: 1 hour.

## Tasks

Limits on a task

- **Inputs**: 1 to 100 per task, all uploaded inputs in one directory.
- **Outputs**: 1 to 50 named per task. With numbered patterns, a task may write up to 1,000 files in all.
- **Options**: Up to 400 entries in one options array, each up to 8,192 characters. A filter graph up to 32,768 characters.
- **URL inputs**: HTTPS, public addresses only, at most 5 redirects, each one checked.

## Probes

Limits on a probe

- **Analysis**: analyzeduration up to 60 seconds; probesize up to 50 MB.
- **Frames and packets**: Up to 30 seconds or 3000 frames per interval.

## Webhooks

Limits on webhooks

- **Attempts**: Up to 6, over about 2 hours. Each waits 10 seconds for an answer.
- **URL**: HTTPS, public addresses only. Redirects are not followed.
